Well, thanks very much, folks. Indeed, it may not be an accurate assessment of its fundamental condition and outlook, but the equity market, and fundamentals are at this point distant cousins, barely on speaking terms with one another. While Genworth’s selloff lasted only a brief period of time, the market is still in the process of assessing the worth of all financial institutions. Should it falter again, the company is going to need to do more than to tell investors that they don’t know what they’re talking about.
